Aaannnd, now we are heading into the next swing of the pendulum. We have had extreme, excessive, ultra permissive societal norms for a while now. Now there will be an era of conservatism, austerity, prudence and obedience. That will culminate in reaching the other extreme of the spectrum. Let's just hope we don't return to puritanical "witch" and book burnings.😐😐🤦‍♀️🤐

I'd suggest that's already happening, just in different forms... Instead of burning witches, we have cancel culture. In lieu of physical books being burned, we have censorship.

Same shit, different era, different fools dancing to the same tunes

Well said! and God knows it needed to be said :P

I've also been teased toward Christianity as a counter to the Globalists... I was led to believe it was a matter of culture and identity, that we require it for the defence of our society. I'll admit society has degraded in 'the west' alongside Christianity, but to think religion is the solution after all this time is beyond me. Better the devil you know? Just another tool being used to stymie spiritual and societal enlightenment...

Your mention of Google search results was particularly eye opening. A major draw of Christianity has been the perceived attack on Christianity by the Globalists, resulting in my thinking there must be something in it. Fortunately, I see what's in it - the valuable spiritual words hidden amongst the harmful dogma carefully crafted by the Catholic Church. Seeing this manipulation laid out so clearly by Google is a welcome validation of fears.

Perhaps I've been guilty of underestimating the intelligence of those manipulating us...

In any case, thanks for the great article Markus. I wonder if the flocks of those idols you mentioned will come after you... Time to get the popcorn ready and keep an eye on the comments :D

I’m going to over simplify here to make a point. Most humans suffer from some degree of anxiety or a rolling state of dissatisfaction as the joyful and novel becomes de rigueur. This discomfort makes us easy targets for sellers of the “cure” for this dissatisfaction, whether those cures be cars and watches, hot romantic partners, or a new community. The God (or Kingdom of Heaven within) we (mostly) all unconsciously search for is freedom from these regular disappointments. Freedom from the striving, brings Peace. From that foundation it’s much easier to find Love. Giving up on striving doesn’t mean laziness or lack of productivity. It’s the removal of the emotional ego from those behaviors. Therein lies the rub. It takes intentional thought.

Well put, thanks. Can you please explain the "lack of productivity" to my wife now? :-)

I know you're tongue in cheek, but you bring up a great example. Many people expect others (spouses) to bring them happiness. How can that be for a person who doesn't have a satisfied mind? Nothing will ever be enough.

A lifelong "recovering Catholic" we now live in a very rural county of about 2K year round residents with 27 Christian churches! Christianity has not just infused this small town, it runs the show and if you are not a "JC worshipper" you are severely marginalized and regarded as suspect. Anything "globalist" is ignored and never discussed here-guns and God will save them from SHTF..."the Bible tells us so". "We also believe in government and public health authorities and injections and masks (because we are prone to practicing [humiliation] rituals?)

Oddly too, many of the more recent folks to move here (So CO) came from D.C., especially the pastors and their wives. Somethings up with that.

Ugh. I loved this post more than I have words to convey...

The people you mention, and others, proclaim that 'no one is coming to save us" - but they seem to think that Christianity will save them!
