The Science
A few days ago,
cross-posted an interview from titled with Tom Jefferson, MD, who is the lead author of a new Cochrane review about the usefulness of masks. Cochrane is a global independent network of researchers, professionals, patients, carers, and people interested in health. A Cochrane Review is a systematic review of research in health care and health policy that is published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. There is just no evidence that they (masks) make any difference. Full stop. My job, our job as a review team, was to look at the evidence, we have done that.
Jefferson also reveals in that interview that their previous December 2019 review of masks had the same result: No evidence whatsoever that masks work. A month later, Covid hit, but that review was held back internally without any justification for seven months until mid-2020. By then, censorship, mask-wearing policies, and mandates, had been fully implemented. The review was ignored by mainstream media and policymakers.
Dr. Malone: Cochrane's lead author believes that the activists are running the show and that science and scientists have been pushed aside.
Dr. Anthony Fauci Agrees
In this Reuter Fact Check, published on the 9th of October 2020, even Reuter couldn’t undo what Fauci publicly said on the 8th of March 2020:
There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences — people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.
Short VersionVideo: March 2020: Fauci publicly rubbishing masks.
Until He Doesn’t
But, hilariously (if you share my sarcastic humor), Reuter changed the verdict about Fauci’s statement from true to partly false. If you can’t undo it, spin it, I guess.
Partly false. Video shows Fauci’s remarks at early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic when masks were not yet recommended by the government. As of the publishing of this check, Fauci recommends the use of face masks.
So, somehow, miraculously, in those seven months between March and October, adults and children alike, must have learned to not touch and fiddle with their masks anymore. And the masks must have miraculously learned to catch more than a droplet.
The Big U-Turn
Sarcasm aside, it looks like the government did a U-Turn against their own chief health adviser and against all current scientific evidence. Why? Was it the science?
What new scientific studies justified the total U-Turn between March and October? I am not aware of any and the Reuter fact check doesn’t mention any. The Reuter fact check also doesn’t mention the above Cochrane report that was eventually released in June 2020, which clearly states there is zero evidence masks work. There was no way the government would not have known about this review.
Spindoctor Fauci
In July 2020 Fauci told the Washington Post
…. at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, masks were not recommended for the general public, as authorities were trying to prevent a mask shortage for health workers and the extent of asymptomatic spread was unknown.
So he just couldn’t say that at the time? He had to lie to the world and rubbish masks to prevent a shortage? The authorities couldn’t put aside masks for health workers? Were they worried that a panicking mob would storm the hospitals and rip masks from doctors’ faces?
The rest is history, down to the madness of masking two-year-olds in kindergartens, enforcing mask-wearing to enter a restaurant and walk to your table, but then be allowed to take it off, to name two. Share more in the comments for weird amusement.
Those people who questioned the sanity of it all in public were labeled conspiracy theorists, and many more people wondered quietly: What on earth is going on? Yet, despite seeing the madness of it all, the vast majority complied. We are such good boys and girls.
A Case Study: The Lonely Heretic
In NSW, Australia, it was relatively easy to get a mask exemption, so I got one. I did not even have to see a doctor. A statuary declaration was sufficient.
I had to carry the paper with me at all times. I visited many public places and restaurants and interacted with many people to do my job.
I was relieved to work without a mask, but the first time I went to work maskless, I was also nervous and self-conscious. It was difficult to read if I am judged because I couldn’t read any frickin faces - they were all hidden behind masks. It felt very strange and unsettling to stand out by being normal.
Initially, no one said anything or wanted to see my exemption. Remember? Businesses were forced to employ Covid Marshals in Australia to enforce compliance. Maybe twice a week someone approached me with curiosity to find out how I got away with not wearing a mask. I explained eagerly and encouraged anyone interested. I proactively shared with my family and friends. I hoped to turn them. I needed comrades to feel more comfortable. But it never happened. Not one person followed my lead.
I estimate the ratio of masked to unmasked in our town was about 100:1, or 1%. I saw maybe one or two maskless people all day - such was the compliance in Australia. I found myself nodding and smiling to unmasked strangers, desperate for human connection. I also couldn’t shake the feeling that I belonged to a closely watched minority. The scrutiny didn’t appear overly hostile, but it was unpleasant nevertheless. I was aware that the propaganda against non-compliant people was in full swing.
And yet, every day I heard people, left and right, expressing their dislike and anger with these masks.
Another Case Story: The Lonely Heretic Reversed
Humor aside, lets fast forward 2 1/2 years for a moment. There is a small number of people in the town I live that never stopped wearing a mask. One reason might be harsh self-judgment of the way they look. This Daily Mail article quotes a survey from South Korea and concludes:
People who consider themselves attractive are less likely to wear face masks
Those who see themselves as less attractive are likely to believe masks improve looks
But I also believe some people got lasting trauma from the mask propaganda. The fear of being infected with a virus went viral in their emotional brains. They can’t make themselves stop wearing a mask anymore.
I know of an attractive young Korean woman who works in a restaurant. She has been wearing a mask for three years. Not only at work. It’s a small town and I see her around shopping, and walking by herself, always wearing a mask.
I feel sorry for her. I believe she suffers from a mental condition. I also believe, over time, she will get physical health issues, to add to possible social and psychological issues. We are not meant to partly re-breath our own toxic exhausts It makes me angry and sad that the authorities did that to her. Authorities, that recruited and forced fellow ordinary citizens to police us. And that unearthed another virus, always lurking right under the surface of any humanistic society, ready to emerge and multiply rapidly, when the conditions are set by evil or stupid leaders:
The Covid Nazis
Back to 2020. In the following three to four months of mask mandates, I had to face a Covid Nazi about every two weeks. That is the friendliest word I can come up with for brainless, authority-loving, self-righteous fascists who totally believed that bullying maskless people is their duty to the “Vaterland”.
I am not talking about these kids that were told to wear yellow high-vis vests with “COVID MARSHAL” on their backs. These kids were polite, often apologetic, and sometimes embarrassed. They didn’t sign up for this when they applied for the job in the restaurant and were too insecure to object. They did the absolute minimum quickly asking:
“Do you have a mask exemption?”
“Yes”
“Great. Thanks.”
The Covid Nazi are a totally different breed altogether though. “Stiefellecker” comes to mind. Boot lickers. This is a common put-down word in German for an over-eager brainless authority-loving follower. Bowing to the superiors, kicking the underlings. Bullies with a cause. During a Mass Formation Psychosis, they grow like mushrooms on cow shit after a warm rain.
Do You Want Embarrassment With Your Fries?
I remember one encounter vividly. It was at McDonald’s, of all places. She wasn’t even wearing a COVID MARSHAL high-vis vest. She looked nineteen. She wore the blue-white striped supervisor blouse that gave her authority over the band of giggling teenagers that run McDonald’s all over Australia these days. It also gave her authority over maskless people like me. A nineteen-year-old McDonalds supervisor. How did we get here?
I have been at this particular McDonalds several times before and the Covid Marshals were cool. But when she spotted me from behind the counter, the sight of my bare face triggered her. She marched towards me, planted herself in front of me, and demanded loudly:
“Where is your mask?”
A dozen heads turned towards us and the noise level halved. Even the ever-beeping machines appeared to be silent for a few seconds, such was her command. But I was prepared.
“Excuse me?”, I replied quietly.
“Where is your mask? You are supposed to wear a mask. You can’t be in here without a mask. Put a mask on or leave.”
“I have a mask exemption”, I replied.
“Can I see it?”, she demanded. She seemed intoxicated with adrenaline. Ready to expose and punish the traitor, the murderer, the delinquent.
“Sure”, I said.
I reached with two fingers into my back pocket and pulled out my folded-up exemption and dangled it in front of her face. Then I unfolded it so she could see that it was a statuary declaration. She tried to grab it but I pulled it away.
“Sorry, it’s private. There is sensitive medical information here that I don’t want to share with you. You can’t read it.”
She looked at me in disbelief.
“What? I need to check it. It’s my job to check it.”
“You did. That’s all you are allowed to do. Only the police can read it. That’s the law. “
Meanwhile, the whole restaurant was in on the conversation. We stared at each other. Then she abruptly turned around and angrily marched back behind the counter. I didn’t dare to look around. It felt like a hollow victory. I waited for my food and left, looking at the floor, thinking: Is this real?
The other confrontations with the Covid Nazis were similar. Some were older, some were males. It was always unpleasant. They came in all sorts of uniforms and none of them had Svastika armbands. They didn’t need to do this. The vast majority of marshals didn’t do this. But the Covid Nazis felt compelled to do this. They were only a handful but God help us when they take over.
Since when do we give citizens power over other citizens to uphold the law? And what does that do to the population? What were our leaders thinking? Why can anyone with a pretty face and a big mouth become a politician? Shouldn’t they have to pass a test in history, honesty, decency, law, and general intelligence? Most other professions require that.
Bystanders and Followers
A few months later, Scott Morrison, the prime minister of Australia, made an announcement: The mask mandate was lifted. But he very strongly urged the people to still wear masks to protect themselves and others. I walked into the supermarket the next day and about 90% were maskless. I felt joy and shock simultaneously.
Joy because this was such a strong vote for common sense. The vast majority of Australians did not believe that these masks protect anybody. Shock, because the vast majority of Australians followed non-sensical mad mandates to the dot despite thinking that they won’t work.
Even Tom Johnson, lead author of the Cochrane review, knowing for a fact that masks don’t work and that the mandates were introduced because of political activism and not science, wore one. So did Demasi.
DEMASI: Did you wear a mask?
JEFFERSON: I follow the law. If the law says I need to wear one, then I wear one because I have to. I do not break the law. I obey the law of the country.
DEMASI: Yeah, same.
Ok, I had it easy. I didn’t need to break the law. And I don’t know if or when I would.
Law and Order 2.0
And that brings us to the ethical dilemma we all have to face, each of us in our own way. At what point and how do we break the law, if the law is potentially harmful to us or our children and harmful and discriminating against minorities in our society? What if the lawmakers themselves break the law with their new mad rules? Under the pretense of an emergency, the Nuernberg Code and several other codes and laws were broken. Human rights were violated.
Where exactly is the line where we stop complying with madness? Did we learn anything?
It is a very difficult question. We can’t have every individual make up their own mind about following the law. That’s not how the law works. On the other hand, how far down the madness trail will we go, and for how long do we follow mad rules before resistance, civil disobedience or civil unrest becomes our duty? I would be very interested in hearing from you about this in the comments.
Paranoid Or Canary In The Coal Mine?
Judging by the conversations I had with people so far, it’s not such a big deal for most of them to have to wear a mask for a few months, even when they don’t work and the rules seem a bit stupid. Certain people even liked it. “What’s the big deal?”, some would ask.
I grew up in Germany in the seventies and understanding the forces and mistakes that lead to Nazi Germany was a big part of the history curriculum at my school. Times were different then.
My teenage daughter’s school excursion was a trip to the beaches, roller-coasters, and shopping malls of the Goldcoast, Queensland. My German class went to the former concentration camp in Dachau, near Munich. Our class stared in shock and disbelief at the big room filled to the top with the skulls and bones of the killed inmates. I think many of us got a bit traumatized that day, but we learned history hands-on. Imagine doing this to a Gen-Z class……….
The slogan at the time was: “Wehret den Anfaengen”, meaning “beware and defend against the beginnings.” The lesson was understood. Don’t cross a line. If you allow discrimination only a little bit, it can turn very big, very fast. Don’t encourage discrimination, and don’t play with unconscious tribal emotions.
Did the recent mask mandates and witch hunts cross that line or am I just paranoid?
Auschwitz Didn’t Suddenly Fall From The Skies
Marian Turski Speech: Auschwitz didn't suddenly fall from the skies
Marian Turski is a French-speaking Jew who survived Auschwitz. He did this speech titled: “Auschwitz didn’t suddenly fall from the skies.” I recommend listening to all of it but if you are short on time, start at 5:45 min.
He takes us to Berlin in the early 1930ties. There he talks about the first small discriminations, that ended with 6 million people killed in gas chambers fifteen years later. It started so small. Little signs started to appear on the benches in the parks around Berlin where he lived at the time:
“Jews must not sit on these benches.”
Calculated Madness
A mad rule. There were enough benches, no shortage. This is obviously another level of power. The Nazis did not need to use an excuse or explanation to be totalitarian. They didn’t need to wait for or make a pandamic to justify totalitarian overreach. It was a similar madness as mandating little children to use a mask, amongst many other things, but the mask mandate enforcers still felt, or pretended to feel, that it had a purpose despite the fact that there was zero evidence.
There also could be a number of deeper very sinister purposes, conscious or unconscious, in enforcing non-sensical mandates: Breaking people’s will, putting people against each other, and flushing out the resistance.
I once read about exercises to train the will. The author suggested exercises like standing on a chair with one leg for as long as possible, for example. There was no purpose or reward at all which made them much harder to do and therefore trained the will much better than an exercise with a reward or purpose. It made sense.
The same principle is at play when breaking people’s will. Rules that make sense are easy to follow. No enforcement is needed. It doesn’t divide the people. But mad rules and unethical rules are very difficult to follow and therefore divide people into three groups: People that love authority and power and want to be part of it, people that are are indifferent and politically lazy and just go along, and people who object and resist. How people react to authoritarian illogical and non-sensical rules gives an indication of which group they belong. The people in power can then play the different groups.
If you want to learn more about the psychology of totalitarianism,
, a statistician, Doktor in Psychology, and Professor at the Ghent University in Belgium, is the hottest property regarding this topic worldwide at the moment. He re-introduced the term "Mass Formation Psychosis" in relation to what is going on worldwide regarding totalitarian overreach. His latest substack "The psychology of totalitarianism - A book for burning? (Part 1)" is about his book being banned from his lecture at the university. Mattias Desmet Substack LinkIf you are not a current politician you might remember what happened at Kristallnacht in November 1938 all over Germany. Books that challenged the Nazi’s dominant story were burned. That was about 5 years after the first signs on the park benches in Berlin appeared. Events seem to move much quicker than during Nazi times.
Tightening The Screws - Step by Step
Regarding the park bench sign, Marian Turski continued in his speech:
“You could say it’s not pleasant, it’s not fair, it’s not right. But after all, there are so many benches around. You can sit somewhere else, of course, you can.”
He goes on to describe the neighborhood where a Nobel Prize Winner and cabinet minister lives and Albert Einstein used to live. It was the heart of German intelligence, culture, and status at the time. A while later, another sign appeared above the local swimming pool:
“Jews are forbidden to enter.”
“You could say: Pleasant this is not but there are so many places in Berlin you can take a bath or swim, so many lakes, canals…it is really like Venice. At the same time, you can read somewhere else, Jews must not belong to German singing associations. So what? Alright, they want to sing, they want to make music. Let them just meet somewhere else. They do their singing.”
“What comes up later is an order really. More than an order than an inscription: Non-Arien children must not play with Arian children, with the German children. Alright, they’ll play on their own. And then you read: We only sell bread and food to Jews after 5 pm, right, there is choice, this makes your life harder, but, after all, after 5 you still can do your shopping. “
This speech is incredibly valuable because it points out two very important factors that seem so insignificant and never talked about when people talk and remember the horrors of the holocaust: It starts with tiny steps that cross a line and victims and bystanders normalize it and go along with it. Marian continues:
“Now, I warn you, I warn you. I am getting used to a thought. That thought that someone might be excluded. It comes mediated into our lives. That someone may be stigmatized. That someone may be alienated.
And that’s how it is done. Step by step.
Slowly, people begin to see: This is something normal. Both, the victims and the perpetrators, the witnesses, those we call in English bystanders, those who see it, become familiar, they become acquainted with that thought, familiar with that idea, that the minority that produced Einstein . . . that they are different people, that they are alien people, that they are the people that carrying germs, that cause pandemics, and this now is a horror, that’s dangerous, this is where what may happen soon takes its origin.”
Are We Repeating History?
These are chilling words from a Holocaust survivor who lived through it all:
“This is where what may happen soon takes its origin.”
These little harmless-looking steps are the origins of six million killed people. A line is crossed. That’s what everyone who values democracy has to understand.
Does anyone see the parallels? Or is it just me?
On September 2021, the most powerful man in the world, President Biden, made a statement to the nation when he said: “This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.” There was no evidence whatsoever and in this amazing breaking substack by
titled "Dr. Anthony Fauci now admits the mRNA Covid vaccines hardly work and might not be approvable" LinkDr. Fauci himself admitted that the vaccines have failed. It also shows compelling evidence and reasoning that people get more and more vulnerable to the Corona Virus with every additional shot. It looks like the opposite is true: This is a pandemic of the vaccinated. Biden’s statement was propaganda, nothing else.
There is also ongoing propaganda in mainstream media around the world against anyone critical of the dominant fascist narrative’. “Anti-vaxxers” has replaced the word “Jew”. Group three is targeted relentlessly by fascist players and stirs up discrimination and hate.
Germany, Oh Germany
When the first little steps of discrimination and fachism started to happen, almost simultaneously, all around the world, as if orchestrated by a hidden puppet master, I was convinced that the Germans will recognize the fascist smell immediately and rise up against it. Of all people, they should know and see the signs. They should understand that there is no justification for discrimination of any kind.
To my great shock and concern, it was almost the opposite. A few family members and friends got angry with me for even mentioning the comparison, proclaiming:
“This is completely different to the early beginnings of the Holocaust. These totalitarian Covid rules are justified, the anti-mask people are not victims, like the Jews, but perpetrators that put everyone in danger.”
That many of these rules didn’t protect or made any sense was lost to them. The propaganda and fear-mongering brainwashed the Germans the same, if not more, than any other nation. So much about learning from history.
Do Not Be Indifferent
“Do not be indifferent when any power or government infringes on extant social rights and do not be indifferent,” said Turksi. “Otherwise you won’t even notice when you and your heirs suddenly see an Auschwitz falling down from the sky, straight on them.”
Definition of extant: “still in existence, surviving”
When those rights are gone - many people will die without protection, and many people will die winning them back.
Masking Madness is not about the masks. The masks are only a symbol. It’s about the madness. Look behind the masks and read the fear on people’s faces. The masks are not a medical intervention. There is no evidence they work. The mask is a symbol of oppression, a symbol of fascist power, and a symbol of totalitarian overreach.
And don’t fool yourself into thinking it is all behind us now. It took five years from the park bench signs to Kristallnacht. And another seven years after that before Auschwitz was liberated. This is just the beginning. Wehret den Anfaengen.
Mask Mandates are one symbol of totalitarian overreach. Everything that scares or worries us and seems to be pushed excessively in mainstream media could be another one, especially when it is difficult to assess intuitively if there is truth to it and scientists or politicians are the gatekeeper. There is usually an agenda. Climate Panic, vaccinations, other health interventions, Ukraine war, are just a few examples of this.

You and readers may find this helpful in terms of understanding the roots of the problem and the solution, of course, requiring a strong educational movement: https://bit.ly/greenvirus
In particular I urge a reading of The Green Book. Do not be distracted by the name of the author, which would best have been published as a signature at the end of the book and not on its cover.
"Do not judge a book by its cover"
As the author said something along the lines of: "Just as the farmer who collects fruits from the trees and puts them in a basket, I discovered nothing new. I just put the fruits into a basket to make it easy"
“Do not be indifferent when any power or government infringes on extant social rights and do not be indifferent,” said Turksi. -- such a true statement. Take a stand against tyranny, speak up, resist and never give up any freedom willingly.
